Snow Day Fitness!

SCHOOL is CANCELED IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE!!

And if schools are out that means the roads are icy...

Your front lawn is full of snow...

And you aren't going anywhere.

If you are anything like me, routines are very important to you.

It is so much easier to end a routine than to start one all over again.

WIth that being the case how can you get a good workout at home when there is zero equipment?

Well let me share two super easy ways to get a fun workout in with zero workout equipment!

The first way would be to find a deck of playing cards.

There are several ways to make this competitive and challenging.

1st...you can pick one exercise and try to complete that whole exercise throughout the entire deck

2nd....you can pick two exercises (1 exercise is all the red cards and the other is all the black cards)

3rd....you can pick 4 exercises for each different character in the deck of cards (hearts, diamonds, spades, and clubs).

Each card has a number associated with it and whatever number is on that card is how many reps of any given exercise you choose to do.

The kings, queens, and jacks also have numbers associated with them as well.

Jacks = 11

Queens = 12

Kings = 13.

An ace can equal 1 rep or 14 that is up to you

You can time yourself to see how many cards you can complete....

Race a loved one....

Or take your time and try to complete the deck.

Here is an example of what a card workout would look like...

Diamond = Push-ups

Hearts = Sit-ups

Spade = Squats

Club = Lunges.

Now what if you don't own a deck of cards?

Easy!

Pick a number to start with reps wise and work backwards.

Say I want to do 3 exercises Push-ups, Squats, and Sit-ups and I wanted to get a hard workout with those 3 exercises.

I can just start at the number 20 and work all the way down to 1.

The first set is 20 reps then the second set is 19 reps etc.

Things don't have to be boring and monotonous when it comes to at home workouts.

You don't have to follow the rigid rep and set schemes you do at the gym.

Be creative, make it challenging, and have some fun!

These are two fun and challenging ways to workout at home that I personally enjoy and I hope you can too.
